November 27, 2011
Well, this is a little late, but I had a great scrapbooking retreat weekend November 18-20. Three of my friends, Kim, Denise, and Beverly, and I went to a retreat in Nags Head, North Carolina. It was from 10 a.m. Friday morning until 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. There were a total of about 30 women at the retreat and five vendors (Creative Memories, Stampin' Up, Croppin' Oasis, a masseuse, and I'm not sure what the other girl was selling). Normally the four of us just go to retreats sponsored by our Creative Memories consultant. This was the same idea, but this was put on by a woman, Mary Full, and her 21-year-old daughter, Brittany. Let me tell you .... what a blast it was!!! It was held at the Ramada Plaza Inn at Milepost 9.5.....right on the beach. Of course, November isn't "beach" weather, but we were there for scrapping! I was working on a Disney album .... but I only accomplished 12-1/2 pages. :( It must have been because I'm far too social and helpful. LOL There were a number of ladies there with Cricuts and didn't know how to use them or had problems; thus, I gave a few "lessons." (Maybe I should have charged??? LOL)
The food Mary provided (Friday supper, Saturday lunch) was good, and the breakfast we had at Peppercorns Restaurant (in the hotel) was dee-li-cious, as was our Saturday dinner.
Mary had "door prizes" which she likes to call "in your seat" prizes .... you had to be present in the room to win. Denise won a Martha Stewart Scoring Board, Kim won some stickers/papers, and I won a Big Shot (die cutting machine/embossing machine ... a $100 value!). Unfortunately Beverly didn't win anything, but she went to one of Mary's previous retreats and she won the Big Shot! I haven't opened my prize yet .... too busy to start playing with a new toy! LOL
On Saturday night about 10 p.m. we decided to hit the bar in the motel (Peppercorns) and some karaoke. Fortunately for us .... the crowd was our age (upper 40s/50s). We had a great time --- had a few drinks and met some very nice people.
For the first time ever I had a massage .... well, actually two of them! I had one Saturday afternoon, and I liked it so much I had another one Sunday afternoon. Now those could be addictive!!!
